Stamperia Pontiggia Mario, was created in 1961 by its founder Mario Pontiggia; its initial activities were carried out using artisanal techniques with the aid of shearwaters, auto compressor hammers for forging steel, and oil furnaces.
In 1978, the company was taken over by the founder’s sons, Ermanno and Sergio, who still direct its activities today.

During the 80s and 90s the company underwent a technological renovation, replacing the outdated oil furnaces with new electric induction furnaces, and it replaced the old shearwaters with automated presses.
During those years, works were also undertaken to expand the space available for machining and processing, and a designated storehouse was built.

In the late 90s, Stamperia Pontiggia Mario acquired an equalizer for cold machining and has replaced the sandblaster with an automatic loading machine.
In the 2000s, thanks to the use of specific software and computers dedicated to CAD-CAM design and CNC milling, the company has also begun to design and construct its own moulds.
The technological renovation of the companies machinery continued in 2005, with the inclusion of a new automatic sheetcutter for steel cutting.
